Careprost Eye Drops contains Bimatoprost. Careprost treats hypotrichosis (short eylashes). Careprost increases the length, thickness and color of eyelashes. Bimatoprost is also a treatment for glaucoma. Careprost is a medicine used for growing eyelashes. The active ingredient, Bimatoprost Ophthalmic, does this by increasing the density, thickness, and length of the eyelashes. Careprost also increases amount of fluid in the eye and is actually officially used to treat glaucoma. For a glaucoma treatment, the medication needs to be dropped onto the eye, as opposed to the eye lid only when used for eyelash treatment. Put one drop of Careprost on a liquid eyeliner cartridge. Draw a line along the upper eyelid, and then remove the excess liquid. Repeat this procedure with the other eye. Do not apply Careprost to the bottom eyelid. Apply Careprost once a day. Results can normally be seen after two months of use, although it usually takes three to four months to achieve the desired effects. Once the desired length or density is achieved, apply Careprost once a week to maintain this length. If you completely stop using Careprost your eyelashes will revert to their previous state. Side effects: dry eyes, vision disturbances, eye burning feeling, unfamiliar sensation, darkened eyelashes, irritating feeling, conjunctival edema, conjunctivitis, discharge from the eye, pigmentation in iris. Studies have shown that Careprost can gradually change eye color of treated eyes to brown by increasing melanosomes in melanocytes, and it is thought that these changed may be permanent. Long-term effects on melanocytes such as potential damage of pigment granules and deposit of pigment are still unknown. As color changes occur gradually, the changes are not noticeable and may even take years to notice.
