Ciplox is used for treating bacterial infections. It is a synthetic broadspectrum antibacterial agent for oral administration. The active pharmaceutical ingredient contained in Ciplox is Ciprofloxacin. Ciplox is used for treating bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure. Use Ciplox as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions. Below are mentioned the typical adult doses. For your exact dose consult your doctor. Respiratory tract, bone and joint infections - Mild/moderate 500 mg twice daily, severe/complicated 750 mg twice daily. Urinary tract infections - Mild/moderate 250 mg twice daily, Severe/complicated 500 mg twice daily. Infectious diarrhoea - Mild/moderate/severe 500 mg twice daily. Gonorrhoea 250 mg single dose. Do not miss any doses. If you miss a dose of Ciplox, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once. Do not use Ciplox if: you are allergic to any ingredient in Ciplox or to any other fluoroquinolone (eg, levofloxacin), you have recently received a live, oral typhoid vaccination or you are taking Cisapride or Tizanidine. Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you. Some medical conditions may interact with Ciplox. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding, if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement, if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances, if you have heart problems or a history of irregular heartbeat, low blood potassium levels, Alzheimer disease, a brain or nervous system disorder, a problem with the blood vessels in your brain, diarrhea, a stomach infection, liver problems, kidney problems, increased pressure in your brain, seizures, inflammation of your tendons, joint problems, or skin sensitivity to the sun. Ciplox should be stored at below 86 degrees F.
